A
AYAI ANSWER

Can breathing practices make me dizzy?

They can, especially when breathing becomes very fast, very deep or forceful, or when breath retention is introduced before the practitioner is ready. Dizziness is a signal to stop the technique and return to natural breathing, not something to push through in the hope of reaching a deeper experience.

Traditional pranayama is progressive for a reason. The breath is approached with precision and respect. Strong practices such as Bhastrika, Kapalabhati or extended kumbhaka are not simply “more advanced versions” of normal breathing that everyone should imitate.

Begin with awareness of the natural breath and learn stronger methods from a knowledgeable teacher. Pranayama becomes powerful through refinement, not through violence.
